Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our exceptional team at Sharon Hospital. As a valued member of our per diem staff, you will have the flexibility to choose from a variety of shifts, while enjoying attractive shift differentials and stipends.
Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient support under the guidance of skilled RNs and physicians.
- Assist patients with daily activities, offer emotional support, and perform clinical procedures under the expert direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Start the day with morning care routines, including bed baths, showers, and personal hygiene, ensuring patient comfort and well-being.
- Bring comfort to patients during evening care, administering face and hands washing, oral hygiene, and back rubs, among other vital duties.
- Provide expert assistance in positioning, lifting, turning, and using specialized equipment to enhance patient mobility and comfort.
- Prepare and serve meals, catering to patients' dietary needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Stay alert and responsive to patients' needs by promptly addressing call lights and conducting regular rounds.
- High School graduate or equivalent educational background is essential.
- Prioritize patient safety and quality of care with BLS certification required by the end of your orientation class.
- Dive into your role confidently with at least 1 year of direct patient care experience, ensuring you're well-prepared for success in this per diem opportunity.
Essential:
- Significant manual skills / motor coordination & finger dexterity
- Significant occupational risk
- Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
- Significant exposure to dirt, odor, noise, human waste, etc.
