MSA Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Public Works Engineering Intern to gain valuable experience in our engineering department. This internship will provide students with practical exposure to a diverse range of municipal projects, significantly contributing to the development of small and medium-sized communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections on ongoing construction projects related to municipal water, roads/utilities, or wastewater management.
  • Assist in construction administration tasks, including documenting project activities, communicating with project managers, measuring and testing, and overseeing contractor work.
  • Perform construction staking and site surveys.
  • Support the preparation of permits and technical documentation for municipal initiatives.
  • Contribute to CAD tasks and project cost estimations.
  • Engage in various company initiatives that may involve multiple service lines.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Previous experience as a civil engineering intern or co-op is preferred.
  • Experience in construction inspection is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • A genuine interest in municipal engineering and consulting is expected.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required; sponsorship is not available for this position.
