  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the department's goals and objectives.
  • Supervise and mentor faculty members to ensure their success and growth.
  • Collaborate with other departments and units to promote interdisciplinary research and education.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure the department's financial stability.
  • Represent the department at university and external events to promote its programs and research.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, occupational safety, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a manufacturing or a similar field.
  • Minimum of one year administrative experience such as department head, assistant department, director, assistant director, program leader/coordinator, or similar responsibility.
  • Accomplishments and credentials sufficient to meet the requirements of the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at JSU in teaching, service, and scholarly publications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience administrating Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) or Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited programs.
