Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Preferred Care at Old Bridge. As a PTA, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain their range of motion, manage their pain, and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatment to patients with injuries or chronic health conditions.
  • Review physician's referrals and patient's condition to determine physical therapy treatment required.
  • Communicate effectively with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians to ensure seamless care.
  • Test and measure patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
  • Develop and implement treatment programs based on patient data.
  • Administer manual exercises, physical agents, and other treatments to improve patient function.
  • Evaluate treatment effects and adjust treatments as needed.
  • Record patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Instruct patients and families on treatment procedures to be continued at home.
  • Orient, instruct, and direct work activities of assistants and aides.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
  • Current PTA license in good standing.
  • One year of experience as a PTA in a healthcare setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
