Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electro Mechanic to join our team at Durand Glass Manufacturing Company, LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing automated machinery and computer-controlled mechanical systems in our industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Intervene during a breakdown or power dip in the Cold End, Vap, and Decorating Departments.
  • Restart lehrs, single lines, and maxon valves in case of power dips.
  • Set up single line, packing line, labeler, and case coder to assigned gauge.
  • Preventative maintenance on conveyors and robots.
  • Change cameras on the DRB for job changes.
  • Preheat lehr for job start-up.
  • Assist the hot end shift electro mechanic in case of necessity.
  • Use typical mechanic's tools and inspection gages.
  • Use hoist, cranes, hand tools, and power tools to dismantle and reassemble parts and/or machines.
  • Clean, inspect, and diagnose equipment or part failures to determine root cause.
  • Assist and train others less experienced co-workers when needed.
  • Complete routine paperwork and computer work as required.
  • Operate equipment to assure satisfactory performance.
  • Keep equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Service tape machines, vision, laser, plug gauger, robots, and MSK as needed.
Requirements
  • Good mechanical skills and basic knowledge of robotic arms.
  • Able to start, stop, and operate all equipment in the Cold End.
  • Able to work on ladders, scaffolds, and in pits.
  • Basic electrical knowledge (220w/480w/controlled).
  • Able to work with Windows-based programs.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
Education and Work Experience

Must have 2-3 years of mechanical and/or electrical experience in an industrial environment or 1 year of mechanic and/or electrical experience in an industrial environment plus technical training/certification.

Physical Demands

Able to lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs.; carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work at elevated heights. Ability to work in a hot and noisy environment. Ability to climb, crouch, bend, twist, and conduct tasks within the restrictions presented in a manufacturing environment. Able to work overtime, oftentimes on short notice.
