Delray Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Perianesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition for patients from the operating room to the recovery area.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare patients for surgical procedures by reviewing medical history, medications, and allergies, and providing education on the surgical process and potential outcomes.
- Perianesthesia Care: Provide individualized care to patients in the PACU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing various nursing interventions as needed.
- Post-Operative Care: Continuously assess patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and develop a plan of care to meet those needs.
- Discharge Planning: Collaborate with the anesthesia provider to develop discharge criteria and ensure a smooth transition for patients to their next level of care.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Licensure: Current California Registered Nurse License.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience preferred.
- Certifications: Current BLS Certification, ACLS required within 6 months of hire, and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
