Asphalt Equipment Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Allan Myers. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective operation of our production asphalt paving and milling equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintain production asphalt paving and milling equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
• Assist equipment technicians or service personnel with technical support as needed.
• Develop and maintain effective communication with field personnel and dispatch.
• Ensure quality of repairs to minimize recall and duplicate work.
• Comply with all governmental and company safety policies.
• Review shop tool requirements to optimize work efficiency.
• Participate in technical training with dealers and manufacturers to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies.
• Work closely with the Field Services Dispatcher and parts personnel to ensure timely delivery of parts.
• Collaborate with internal departments, field managers, and superintendents to achieve team goals.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience repairing asphalt paving and milling equipment.
• High school diploma, GED, or trade school preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of heavy construction machinery components, including diesel engines, power transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnostic capabilities with hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems on modern construction equipment.
• Ability to make repair decisions quickly and rationally.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and safely.
