Detention Deputy

Join the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, FL, as a Detention Deputy and play a vital role in maintaining public safety and upholding the law. As a Detention Deputy, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of inmates, visitors, and staff within the correctional facility.

• Supervise and monitor inmates to prevent altercations and maintain a safe environment.
• Conduct searches and inspections of inmates, cells, and facilities to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents within the facility, including medical emergencies, fights, and escapes.
• Provide support and assistance to inmates, including counseling and guidance.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of incidents, inmate behavior, and facility operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Valid Florida driver's license required.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to pass a background check and polygraph examination.
