About the Role

The State of Indiana is seeking a highly skilled Adoption Consultant to join our team. As an Adoption Consultant, you will play a critical role in leading, monitoring, and supporting the agency's goal of increasing the number of children that reach permanency through adoption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead recruitment process of adoptive families and prepare them for the placement of a special needs child
  • Support adoptive families throughout the process and increase support for special needs adoptions in the community
  • Work proactively with external and internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate steps are met through the life cycle of adoption
  • Provide training and information to field staff to ensure that children achieve permanency through adoption
Requirements
  • Master's Degree with 1+ years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience or Associate's Degree with 5+ years of experience or at least 7+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Specialized knowledge in program subject matter obtained through experience and/or education
  • Ability to develop and implement new principles and policies and discern any far-reaching implications
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders
