Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Protect patients, visitors, and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and eliminating safety hazards.
  • Deter vandalism, theft, and property abuse through routine patrols of all hospital property.
  • Conduct searches of belongings as required.
  • Proficiently use magnetometer and wanding equipment.
  • Enforce Cleveland Clinic facility policies, including parking regulations, visitation policies, drug enforcement, and smoking policy.
  • Monitor facility activity on closed-circuit television to alert security personnel to escalating situations.
  • Intervene in patient, visitor, and staff confrontations as necessary.
  • Document incidents and maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrate understanding of emergency procedures, alarm response, evacuation, and internal and external disaster plans.
  • Follow health system and department policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code, and display of ID badge.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license (VDL) and eligibility for insurability to operate the organization's vehicles.
  • OPOTC (Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission) approved Private Security Academy certifications.
  • Minimum one year of previous experience in the field of criminal justice, private, public, or military security (or similar in a related field).
Physical Requirements

Requires extensive walking, standing, sitting, talking, listening, and documenting when directing or investigating concerns/incidents.

Typical physical demands require full body motion, physical strength, and stamina to intervene during response to crisis interventions and medical emergencies.
