Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Waterford Unified School District. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for our preschool children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences for preschool children.
  • Help children develop positive interpersonal relationships with peers and adults.
  • Assist with child observation and recording progress.
  • Supervise and interact with children during indoor/outdoor free flow.
  • Help shape positive student behaviors via appropriate strategies and techniques.
  • Assist with the preparation of instructional materials for use by small students.
  • Maintain records and files, including confidential student records and information.
  • Operate equipment and machines necessary to operate the program.
  • Function as an appropriate, positive, role model.
  • Attend appropriate staff meetings and in-service training.
  • May assist with limited English language communication problems.
  • Administer routine first aid and request assistance for non-routine injury or illness.
  • Assist in maintaining an orderly, attractive, and positive learning environment.
  • Participate in parent conferences and other student progress report activities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual
  • Head Start - BA/BS Degree and 24 units in ECE as required by Stanislaus County
  • Three (3) units in infant/toddler development required in infant/toddler program
Physical Demands

  • Exert 20 to 40 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
