We are seeking a skilled Fleet/Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other mechanical systems.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration units, including servicing and repairing compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
- Operate electric arc welding equipment to repair and fabricate metal components.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless operations and efficient use of resources.
- 6-12 months of experience in truck/automotive maintenance, with a focus on diesel engines and refrigeration systems.
- Advanced skills in troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical data and diagrams, including specifications, charts, and tables.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
