Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Soap Creek Resources. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing manufacturing engineering tasks for specific projects or processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and basic troubleshooting for ongoing operations, investigating and analyzing data for assigned recurring tasks.
  • Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, documentation, quality plans, and labor standards for revisions to existing operations or for new parts and programs of limited scope.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction, quality improvement, safety, and ergonomic initiatives within a limited scope.
  • Use electronic tools and software to perform engineering functions.
  • Develop and implement plans to support lean manufacturing using the Deere Production System, including designing operational layouts to improve material flow and presentation.
  • Participate in team studies focused on capacity, energy, productivity, and efficiency improvements.
  • Implement new manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Provide shop floor support to address safety and ergonomics concerns.
  • Assist in new product development as needed.

Requirements:

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Technology discipline (4-year degree).
  • Engineering Background: Mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, power systems, or a related discipline. General understanding of the principles, with the ability to apply them with assistance.
  • CAD and Engineering Tools: Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering tools. General understanding of these tools, with the ability to use them with some guidance.
  • Manufacturing/Distribution Knowledge: Preferred candidates will have knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality control, weld fixture tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance, and facilities management.
  • Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP): General understanding of EPDP principles with the ability to apply them independently.
  • Proven experience in improving quality, efficiency, and safety in manufacturing settings.
