Orthopaedic Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our team at Orthopaedics East. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our orthopaedic practice.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive physical examinations, compile patient medical data, and administer diagnostic tests as needed.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in providing continuity of care.
- Provide instruction and counseling to patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.
- Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Exercise privileges granted under the supervision or direction of a member of the medical staff in the operating room.
- Assist with pre-operative management, including preparing and positioning patients, serving as a first assistant to the surgeon, and managing intraoperative wounds.
- Administer post-surgical wound care, including dressings and suturing, as needed.
- Assist in the coordination of sales representatives before, during, and after surgery, as necessary.
- Supervise medical students, physician assistant students, residents, and private surgical technicians in the operating room.
- Perform rounding and maintenance of chart documentation of patients, facilitate timely discharges, and complete other related duties as required.
- Bachelor's (B.S.) degree or Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited physician assistant program.
- Certification required, with ability to obtain and maintain licensure in the state of North Carolina as prescribed in the employment contract.
- CPR certification required.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and business within the organization's policies.
- Ability to treat everyone with respect, courtesy, and friendliness, and adhere to all policies and procedures for our organization.
This position is a combination of working in the office clinic as well as at the Hospital and the Surgi-Center.
