Job Summary

This role focuses on utilizing advanced imaging techniques and practices to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. As a senior-level technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of procedures involving the use of high-frequency sound waves to investigate internal body structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate equipment, manipulating transducers and adjusting console dials to obtain clear recordings of specified body sections.
  • Assist radiologists and/or vascular surgeons in interpretation by describing anatomy, anatomical location, and acoustic characteristics of each film or computer report.
  • Generate computer reports on all arterial studies, containing previous studies and pertinent history or surgical reports.
  • Maintain a daily log of vascular patients and prepare annual and monthly statistics of examinations performed and type of patient.
  • Schedule in-patients and out-patients for vascular examinations, consulting with referring physicians regarding clinical history.
  • Maintain and test equipment to ensure reliability and obtain timely repair service, if required.
  • Develop and present instructional programs of technical vascular procedures for ultrasound, medical, and nursing staff.
  • Coordinate quarterly vascular quality assurance meetings and distribute meeting minutes to attendees.
  • Apply for ICAVL accreditation and maintain current accreditation.
  • Participate in evaluation and selection of new ultrasound and vascular equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments, techniques, and equipment in the ultrasound field by attending courses, seminars, and reviewing professional publications.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or two-year certificate program in Ultrasound.
  • Two years of experience as an ultrasound technologist, with one additional year of experience performing vascular examinations.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification within one year of hire.
