Position Title: Commercial Chiller Service Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on central plant equipment, including chillers of 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Overhaul centrifugal chillers when necessary.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of rigging.
- Collaborate with the office to recommend repairs from initiation to completion.
- Be available for emergency service calls on a rotational basis.
- Conduct end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning of equipment.
- Plan and oversee site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant systems.
- Execute daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all associated equipment.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks within the scheduled month.
- Foster positive relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all on-site equipment.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings to uphold safety standards.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Work closely with the Chiller Field Supervisor to address new and existing customer needs or concerns.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience at the journeyman level, along with relevant technical education.
- Experience in commercial and industrial air conditioning is essential.
- Strong knowledge of chillers, HVAC systems, and central plant operations.
- Field experience with large tonnage HVAC systems is required.
- Must be available for emergency service calls on a rotational basis.
- EPA certification is mandatory.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
- A valid driver's license is required.
