Position Summary: The Rehabilitation Support Specialist plays a crucial role in our team, as they interact significantly with our patients. This position is essential for building trusting relationships with clients. The Specialist is responsible for engaging with patients through compassionate communication and guiding them through activities. They will manage patient flow in the gym area and inspire patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals. The role requires a commitment to ensuring patients have the best possible experience during their recovery. Additionally, the Specialist will have the opportunity to learn about physical therapy and biomechanical concepts to assist the Physical Therapist in providing the highest quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Physical Therapy Site Director.
- Arrives prepared and on time for scheduled shifts.
- Greets patients by name upon arrival and throughout their care.
- Assists Therapists in preparing patients for initial activities (e.g., Bicycle, Moist Heat).
- Effectively communicates messages between patients and Customer Service Representatives, Insurance Specialists, or Therapists as needed.
- Helps patients complete insurance requirements and necessary paperwork to ensure seamless care.
- Assists Therapists in guiding patients through their activities according to the treatment plan.
- Provides corrective feedback to patients regarding proper form and technique as directed by the Therapist.
- Performs opening and closing duties for the scheduled shift (e.g., shutting down equipment, closing blinds, preparing the facility for the next day).
- Participates in frequent training sessions with physical therapists.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in computer systems.
- Detail-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in customer service.
