Job Summary

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs a variety of ultrasound procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain the purpose of the examination, and answer questions.
  • Record patient information, including medical history and test results.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ultrasound technology and techniques.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • 2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
  • Registration in a specialty area, such as Abdomen, Obstetrics and Gynecology, or Cardiac Sonography.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
