Adjunct Professor

Job Title: Adjunct Faculty

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to join our team at Southwest Virginia Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Teach courses in a variety of disciplines, including business, education, and liberal arts.
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse student populations.
• Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.
• Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

• Masters or doctoral degree in the relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated commitment to student success and academic excellence.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students and staff of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching courses with multicultural perspectives in a community college setting.
• Competence in using online course management systems, such as Canvas.
• Ability to adapt to a variety of teaching situations and student characteristics.
