This role entails overseeing all lending operations within the credit union, ensuring adherence to established lending policies, and contributing to the formulation of lending strategies. The specialist will also work on minimizing loan delinquencies through effective recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for members regarding loan services and policies, staying informed on lending regulations and financial updates to assist members effectively.
- Process member loan applications, including gathering necessary documentation, conducting credit assessments, and interviewing applicants to make informed credit decisions.
- Ensure all loan files are complete and compliant with lending policies, obtaining necessary signatures and closing documents while maintaining confidentiality.
- Adhere to all lending regulations and assist in the development of procedural updates as required by compliance standards or new initiatives.
- Meet established member service targets and ensure timely completion of all tasks.
- Foster a culture of transparency to effectively address member concerns and enhance customer service.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of 1st Choice Credit Union's offerings, operational guidelines, and organizational values.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support the efficient functioning of the credit union.
Qualifications and Educational Background:
- Experience in credit unions or community banking is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
- 1-2 years of lending experience is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
- Strong attention to detail is necessary.
- Ability to apply logical reasoning and structured methodologies.
