About the Role

The State of Vermont's Department of Mental Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital in Berlin, VT. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

As a member of our team, you will work closely with patients experiencing serious mental illness, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their recovery goals. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and support to patients experiencing serious mental illness
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment through effective communication and teamwork
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a human services setting
  • Or an associate's degree or higher in a human services field
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an inpatient psychiatric or community psychiatric care setting is highly desirable.
