Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Conductor/Engineer to join our team at Patriot Rail Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains, as well as performing maintenance and repair tasks on our rail infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct train operations, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on rail infrastructure, including track work and equipment maintenance
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth train operations and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Maintain accurate records of train movements, maintenance activities, and other relevant data
Requirements
  • Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license
  • 2 years of verifiable work experience and/or college
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior rail industry experience
  • Current Certified Engineer or Conductor status
  • Outside work experience
  • Experience working on an on-call basis
  • Experience working varying shift schedules
Physical Requirements
  • Medium to heavy work, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 80 pounds
  • Reach/handle/finger/feel
  • Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/crawl/balance/climb
  • Ride on the outside of rail equipment for long periods of time
  • Walk long distances over uneven terrain
Employment Conditions
  • Work safely to prevent on-the-job accidents and injuries
  • Wear protective equipment, including hearing protection, safety-toe boots, or safety glasses
  • Work hours may include a non-standard workweek, overtime, and various shift work, including on-call 7 days a week, 24 hours per day
Environmental Conditions
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
