The CNC Machining Specialist is tasked with programming, configuring, and operating CNC machinery to create high-precision components in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and quality benchmarks. This position requires collaboration with engineers, machinists, and quality assurance teams to guarantee effective and precise machining operations. You will be instrumental in enhancing existing CNC programs and minimizing setup and operational times.
The CNC Machining Specialist will report directly to the CNC Group Leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, adjust, and refine CNC programs for various equipment, including lathes, mills, and multi-axis machining centers. Employ CAD/CAM software to generate efficient toolpaths and G-code.
- Prepare jobs for operators and program new components.
- Systematize all new programs in an organized manner as required.
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts, proposing and executing process enhancements to boost efficiency and minimize waste.
- Oversee daily improvements of programmed parts, setups, and operations.
- Enhance operational times across all products, measurable against previous job performances.
- Facilitate smoother transitions between operations (Setup Time).
- Identify and resolve issues with CNC machinery, tooling, and programming. Conduct routine maintenance and coordinate repairs as necessary.
- Ensure components meet tolerance specifications and quality standards.
- Empower fellow machine operators to excel in their roles.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or associate degree in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 4-10+ years of experience in CNC programming and setup is essential.
- Proficiency in Mastercam software and G-code programming is required.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, and machining processes.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, and Siemens controls.
- Experience using precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to CNC machining.
- Understanding of safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a noisy environment.
- Positive demeanor and ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to engage with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to integrity and a dependable attendance record.
Compensation: $42.00/hr based on education, experience, and skills.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm EST. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
