Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform necessary automotive services utilizing advanced equipment efficiently.
  • Support mechanic technicians in executing technical tasks.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair automotive systems to specifications, including engine, transmission, brakes, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, steering, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
  • Clearly communicate technical diagnoses and required repairs to service advisors and customers when necessary.
  • Continuously pursue new technical knowledge, tools, and techniques through formal training to keep pace with evolving technology.
  • Document findings accurately to facilitate customer estimates and appropriate repairs.
  • Assist technician/mechanics in various technical tasks.
  • Keep management informed of mechanical repair issues as they arise.
  • Maintain and secure all work tools.
  • Ensure equipment is turned off and locked out when not in use.
  • Uphold a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair.
  • High motivation, energy, and strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Possession of appropriate hand tools for services performed.
  • Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment, including scanners, electrical diagnostic tools, A/C recovery systems, and fluid exchange equipment.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and A/C Refrigerant handling certifications are advantageous but not mandatory unless performing specific services.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and work effectively in various environmental conditions.
  • Physical capability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, carry, and load items of various sizes and weights.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Spanish, including reading and writing.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate various vehicle types.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions: Must be able to stand on concrete or metal surfaces for extended periods. Work in environments with extreme temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes. Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand and move for six to eight hours daily, performing various physical tasks as required.
