Position: Buyer

Role Overview:

• Transform requisitions into Purchase Orders efficiently.
• Manage Purchase Orders for direct materials and subcontracting tasks.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving measures.
• Assist in the collection and entry of Supplier metric data as required.
• Oversee the coordination of metal scrap processes and pickups with designated scrap dealers.
• Maintain organized supplier packing list files and generate MSO's upon request.
• Complete individual assignments as directed.
• Build and sustain effective working relationships within the department, group, company, and community.
• Ensure professional competence and knowledge necessary for successful task execution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting; relevant experience may be considered.
• Professional Certification from a recognized institution is preferred.
• Relevant experience and/or training is essential.
• Proficiency with ERP systems is required.
• Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting/purchasing software.
• Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to read, write, and interpret various documents.
• Strong mathematical skills and reasoning capabilities.

Work Environment:

• Primarily office-based with occasional visits to the manufacturing area.
• Strong communication skills are necessary for interaction at all organizational levels.
