Position Overview:

As a Service Technician, your primary responsibility will be to uphold safety standards at your designated site while ensuring that service points meet the highest benchmarks for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with third-party providers for major repairs, system enhancements, and routine service tasks. Your daily activities will involve utilizing relevant documentation for planned and unplanned maintenance, addressing technical and commercial customer inquiries, and accurately reporting all work completed in our management system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assembly, commissioning, testing, repair, and maintenance of wind turbine generators and associated equipment.
  • Support the continuous operation of the wind farm, which may include rotating shifts and on-call duties.
  • Perform safety assessments to identify potential electrical and mechanical hazards.
  • Assist in Root Cause Analyses to determine the reasons behind equipment failures.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Utilize appropriate safety gear and equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Engage in safety analysis and hazard reviews prior to undertaking any work assignments.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Keep up with necessary training certifications to perform job functions safely and effectively.
  • Complete required documentation for maintenance and repairs, including Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.
  • Represent Nordex professionally in all interactions.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Certification or degree in a technical or engineering field is preferred.
  • 0-1 year of experience in the wind energy sector is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for work and training.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts as needed.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools is essential.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights exceeding 300 feet.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Capability to work with medium and high voltage equipment safely.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Meet specific OSHA and ANSI weight limits.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical examination to ensure fitness for the role.
