Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supportive services to healthcare providers and nursing staff
  • Perform laboratory ancillary testing and specialty referral forms
  • Transport and accompany patients as needed
  • Observe and alert nursing staff of patients requiring urgent care
  • Retrieve laboratory and ancillary test results
  • Complete patient forms and check encounter forms and prescriptions
  • Obtain vital signs and perform simple dressings
  • Provide translation services as needed
  • Coordinate module/site supply requests
  • Perform EKG audiovisual testing and hook up and remove Holter monitors
  • Perform venous phlebotomy and respond to patient emergencies
  • Document data collected and care rendered
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • 1-2 years of ambulatory care experience preferred
