About the Program

Our 12-month residency program is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed as a registered nurse. You'll work alongside experienced nurse educators and preceptors who will guide you through a comprehensive curriculum that includes:

  • Advanced clinical training in a specialty area
  • Monthly educational sessions
  • Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor
  • Measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations
  • Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders
  • Working collaboratively on an evidence-based practice project

What to Expect

As a RN Resident, you'll be responsible for:

  • Assessing patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status
  • Performing procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s)
  • Documenting the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner
  • Performing exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and striving to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively
Qualifications

To be eligible for the StaRN Residency Program, you must:

  • Have a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Have an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 1 year of employment
  • Have an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Be a Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
