Key Responsibilities:

As a Fumigation Technician/Apprentice at Western Fumigation, you will receive comprehensive training and resources to excel in the pest control and fumigation sector. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, and are eager to develop their skills in this field.

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Assisting in the fumigation process, including sealing, tarping, introducing fumigants, conducting readings, and aerating.
  • Utilizing safety monitoring equipment to perform readings.
  • Reading and adhering to labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for materials used.
  • Inspecting and properly using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Following established safety protocols, including label instructions and client-specific guidelines.
  • Being physically capable of bending, crawling, lifting, and carrying for extended periods.
  • Climbing ladders and working at heights.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • CDL with HAZMAT endorsement is a plus or the ability to obtain it.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and overtime is required.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the job and perform the following duties safely, with or without accommodations, as well as obtain the necessary pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment (company-sponsored):

  • Safely use ladders within the manufacturer's weight capacity.
  • Access crawl spaces, attics, confined areas, rooftops, etc.
  • Work in various weather conditions.
