Restorative Practices Specialist

About the Job
This is an exciting opportunity to join Robertson County Schools as a Restorative Practices Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital part in implementing Restorative Practices, including providing direct restorative services to students and supporting school staff to establish a safe and supportive school climate.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education or a related mental health field, with experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors. You will be responsible for the order, structure, and management of the Restorative ISS Classroom, as well as participating on the school's crisis team and effectively de-escalating students in crisis.
Key Responsibilities
- Inform and prepare participants for restorative circles and/or dialogues
- Contact parents/guardians to invite or inform about a restorative meeting
- Support the facilitation of Restorative Practices along a continuum to include individual student conversations, small group circles and conferences, and small group supervision for an extended period of time
About the Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of Restorative Practices, RTI2-B, SEL, and ACEs, as well as de-escalation techniques and crisis management. You will also have the ability to work both independently and collegially with staff and students, with flexible and situational awareness, effective written and verbal communication skills, and a willingness to be trained and to accept supervision from multiple sources.

About the Salary
The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on the title, job description, and location.

About the Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to have a High School diploma, 2 years of experience in education or a related mental health field, and training and experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors. You will also need to be willing to achieve and maintain certification in a district-approved RBT (registered behavioral technician) training program and in district-approved training that requires the demonstration of proper physical and verbal de-escalation techniques used during a potential crisis situation.
