Substation Electrician Apprentice

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Substation Electrician Apprentice to join our team at FirstEnergy Corp. in Marion, OH. As a Substation Electrician Apprentice, you will assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and circuits.

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and circuits
• Learn and apply safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
• Develop skills in climbing steel structures, digging, backfilling, and grading trenches
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and preparing surfaces for painting
• Load, unload, move, and handle poles, wire, reels, steel, sand, stone, cement, and other materials and equipment
• Drive trucks and other vehicles safely and in accordance with company instructions and rules

• Valid State of Ohio, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Operator's License
• Ability to acquire a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
• Ability to work safely and follow safety rules and regulations
• Ability to climb and work aloft safely with self-confidence from poles and structures
• Ability to lift and handle up to 90 pounds
• Ability to perform heavy physical work in all weather conditions
• Availability to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays
• Availability to work an appropriate amount of overtime and respond to callouts
