The Radiologic Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering clinical services in accordance with radiology practice standards. This position also serves as a resource for radiography students and fellow technologists, ensuring the department operates at optimal efficiency. The technologist is responsible for administering high-quality patient care in line with hospital and departmental policies, prioritizing patient safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of radiologic principles, anatomy, and pathology, employing the most effective techniques for superior examinations.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental protocols, optimizing all examinations for accurate interpretation.
  • Confidently operate radiological equipment across various care settings, including fluoroscopy and emergency services.
  • Implement effective radiation protection measures, utilizing collimation devices and protective shielding.
  • Assist in the education of radiography students, imparting essential radiography principles.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to gather clinical histories and obtain informed consent, ensuring a clear understanding of procedures.
  • Support physicians in executing a variety of examinations, adhering to established protocols and safety measures.
  • Identify and address clinical or emergent issues that may affect examinations, taking appropriate actions to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiology program.
  • ARRT certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Minimum of one year of combined classroom and clinical training in radiology, with recent experience in a healthcare setting as a Radiologic Technologist or student.
  • Basic Life Support Certification is required.
