The Dietitian Specialist at Life Care Center of America plans and implements modified diets for patients, oversees the food services department, and conducts nutritional assessments in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee food services operations, including menu planning and food preparation
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics or related field
  • Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • State licensure or certification as required
  • Experience in nutritional assessment and planning
  • Two years' experience in a healthcare facility, preferably in post-acute care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with geriatric patient assessment standards
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities

Essential Functions

  • Consult with patients and families regarding nutrition needs and goals
  • Review menu plans for nutritional adequacy and quality
  • Plan modified diets for patients as requested by attending physicians
  • Input dietary information accurately and in a timely manner
  • Participate in interdisciplinary patient care meetings

Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
