Job Overview

Hughes General Contractors, a family-owned business with over 65 years of experience, is seeking a seasoned leader for a Heavy Civil Foreman/Superintendent role. This position requires a strong, hands-on approach to overseeing a crew of heavy equipment operators and laborers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise field operations with a hands-on approach
  • Determine sequence and coordinate activities for a heavy civil crew
  • Operate various heavy equipment for dirt and site projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and practices
  • Inspect work performed by subordinates to ensure quality
  • Estimate worker hour requirements and recommend measures to improve production methods
  • Perform other assignments as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of supervising/crew leadership experience
  • Minimum 3 years of heavy civil construction experience
  • Minimum 5 years of operating large heavy equipment experience
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols
  • Ability to carry 70 lbs. or more repetitively
  • Physically able to perform tasks that require bending, climbing, twisting, balancing, and stooping
  • High School diploma/GED preferred
