The Property Development Accountant plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of real estate development projects. Under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Real Estate, this position is responsible for tracking project expenses, analyzing budgets, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of development projects to ensure they stay on budget and within scope.
  • Cost Tracking and Reconciliation: Maintain accurate records of project costs, process invoices, and ensure timely payments.
  • Budget Analysis and Collaboration: Review financials against approved budgets and collaborate with project teams to address discrepancies and ensure financial goals are met.
  • Lender Liaison: Manage the timely submission of draw packages to lenders to support the financing process.
  • Financial Modeling Support: Assist in the creation of financial models for new real estate development opportunities.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and present financial statements for various real estate-related entities.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure the accurate and timely completion of tax returns, audits, and other financial engagements in line with regulatory requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Designated Dress Code: Adhere to the designated dress code as stipulated for the specific role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Accounting Principles: Knowledge of accounting principles that is usually attained by completing accounting courses at the college or university level.
  • Computer-Based Accounting Software: Demonstrated knowledge of computer-based accounting software.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional Ethics: Strong professional ethics, including approaching others in a tactful manner, reacting well under pressure, treating others with respect and consideration, accepting responsibility for own actions, and following through on commitments.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of the Agency's fund accounting software as well as Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed in a normal office environment, generally while seated at a desk. Dexterity is required to perform work with a personal computer keyboard, calculator, and other office equipment.
