Job Overview

We are seeking skilled and general laborers to join our team at Hi-Way Paving, Inc. in Raleigh, NC. As a laborer, you will play a crucial role in carrying out project plans from site preparation to assisting with final paving operations.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare construction and paving areas to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Read and execute plans, instructions, and specifications to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Load, unload, and identify construction materials, machinery, and tools to support project operations.
  • Distribute materials to the appropriate job site locations according to project plans or specifications.
  • Operate hand and power tools as necessary to complete tasks and maintain equipment.
  • Direct vehicle traffic and signal equipment operators as needed to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with laborers, machine operators, and site management to ensure a collaborative work environment.
  • Adhere to safe work practices and all safety protocols and instructions to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications
  • Construction-site labor experience is required, with heavy or highway construction experience preferred.
  • Physical capabilities include climbing, lifting, carrying a minimum of 75 lbs., standing, sitting, walking, entering confined spaces, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and performing repetitive actions.
  • A valid driver's license is required, and the ability to gain clearance in restricted/high security zones is necessary.
  • For skilled labor positions, 3+ years of experience in your trade is required, and union affiliation may be indicated on your application.

Hi-Way Paving, Inc. is a general contractor in the heavy/civil construction space, focusing on projects involving significant amounts of concrete paving on airfields.

We operate in several southeastern and midwestern states, with current job sites in Tennessee and North Carolina, and corporate/back office operations in Ohio and remote locations.
