About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Outbound Operations Manager to join our team at Butler Animal Health Supply. As a key member of our distribution center, you will be responsible for managing the outbound operation to ensure timely and accurate product delivery to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct all distribution activities, including shipping and routing, to ensure company requirements are met.
  • Lead the effort to gather feedback regarding customer expectations and implement changes to continually improve the customer experience.
  • Ensure the efficient organization and layout of the warehouse by optimizing processes for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders.
  • Main point of contact for all inquiries regarding outbound shipments, working with internal partners to resolve any outstanding issues.
  • Review current or future trends that indicate possible gaps in outbound process and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Participate on distribution center management team, developing action plans for conducting internal analyses and gap identification.
  • Conduct daily status meetings with management team to review prior day's performance and develop action plan for current day.
  • Train and motivate Associates to ensure all essential tasks are accurately and efficiently performed.
  • Supervise Warehouse Associate's performance, including performance evaluations, disciplinary action, and attendance management.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse or production environment.
  • Minimum of one year experience with a pharmacy or pharmaceutical wholesaler/distributor preferred.
  • Minimum three years management experience.
  • Must meet any minimum certification qualification required by any local or state board or licensing agency, as applicable within span of control.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically organize, prioritize, and meet customer expectations.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft and computer skills.
  • Experience and knowledge in distribution processes (receiving, shipping, and inventory control) required.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Extensive computer use.
  • Ability to engage in overnight travel on an as needed basis.
  • Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50-70 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk on concrete as needed throughout the day and complete tasks that include bending, stooping, and reaching.
