About the Role:

We are looking for a talented Respiratory Therapist to join our team of experienced professionals who provide critical care transport services to patients in need. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients, from adults to pediatrics and neonates, and to develop your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform all duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist, including setting up and operating various types of equipment, administering prescribed doses of drugs, and preparing and maintaining patient charts.
  2. Conduct rotating shifts to maintain transport capabilities and participate in safety briefings with ground and air crew members.
  3. Communicate personal accountabilities for maintaining a safe environment by indicating changes in road conditions or air space conditions to crew members.
  4. Contribute to ongoing assessment tools for quality assurance methods to enhance the program's safe operation.
  5. Develop, maintain, and document competency in accordance with required clinical competencies for a Transport RCP.
  6. Manage patients with individualized care by evaluating effectiveness/outcome of care, recognizing significant changes in condition, and modifying care based on clinical presentation.

Requirements:

  1. 3 years of tertiary care center (Level I) Critical Care RRT experience in the care of adult, pediatric, or neonatal patients preferred.
  2. Previous transport experience preferred.
  3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team required.
  4. Completion of DHART orientation program required prior to being assigned as a team member.
  5. Must be capable of meeting DHART mandatory physical requirements as verified by the DHMC Occupational Medicine Service during pre-employment screening physical examination, and then yearly as required.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
