- Patient Conditions: Includes but not limited to chest pain, coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, arrhythmias, diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, myocardial infarction, renal failure, pulmonary embolism, congestive heart failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, and syncope.
- Potential for Med-Surg Overflow: May include cases such as gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis, cerebrovascular accidents, and COVID-19 positive patients.
- Special Procedures: Involves pre/post catheterization lab care, pacemaker/AICD management, ablations, and vascular surgeries (CEAs, femoral-popliteal bypasses). Responsibilities include titration of drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Heparin) and sheath removal at the bedside.
- Equipment Utilized: Telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, patient-controlled analgesia, epidurals, and wound vacs.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support required.
- Telemetry Skills: Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- On-Unit Monitoring: Required for patient care.
- Cardiac Procedures: Experience with CABG, chest tubes, post-angiogram care, myocardial infarction management, cardiac catheterization, and sheath removal.
- IV Skills: Starting IVs and managing central, peripheral, and PICC lines.
- Wound Care: Knowledge in wound care and management.
- Every other holiday commitment.
- Flexibility to be assigned to various inpatient units as needed.
- Specific scheduling requests cannot be guaranteed.
