Job SummaryThe Diagnostic Imaging Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the imaging department, ensuring high-quality patient care, compliance with regulations, and efficient use of resources. This role involves managing staff, optimizing workflows, and collaborating with medical professionals to provide exceptional imaging services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the imaging staff, including radiologists, technologists, and support personnel.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high morale.
Operational Oversight:
- Manage daily operations of the imaging department, ensuring efficient workflow and patient scheduling.
- Monitor and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Implement policies and procedures to enhance service delivery and patient experience.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including those from state, federal, and accrediting bodies.
- Develop and oversee quality control measures and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Analyze imaging reports and data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with administration on financial planning and resource allocation.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication regarding imaging results.
- Act as a liaison between the imaging department and other hospital departments, promoting collaborative efforts.
Education and Training:
- Stay current with advancements in imaging technology and best practices.
- Provide training and educational resources for staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Educate patients and families about imaging procedures and safety protocols.
Requirements:
