Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Engineer to join our team at the U.S. Army. As a Geospatial Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting military and civilian operations by collecting, analyzing, and distributing geospatial information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Geographic Data Collection and Analysis: Extract geographic data from satellite imagery, aerial photography, and field reconnaissance to support military and civilian operations.
  • Map Creation and Maintenance: Create and compile geographic data into maps to represent the terrain and its possible effects.
  • Commander Support: Help commanders visualize the battlefield by providing accurate and timely geospatial information.
  • Database Management: Create and maintain multiple geospatial databases to support operations.
  • Briefing and Reporting: Prepare military-style briefs covering all aspects of the terrain to support decision-making.
Training and Qualifications

As a Geospatial Engineer, you will undergo 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 18 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. You will learn basic knowledge of geographic information systems, geographic analysis, imagery interpretation and exploitation, and other skills necessary for success in this role.
