Position Title: Senior Analyst for Insurgency and Violence

Overview:
This role is contingent upon the successful award of a contract.

SOSi is in search of a highly skilled Senior Analyst for Insurgency and Violence to act as the trusted advisor to various government offices, providing critical analysis and leading a team of analysts within the designated contract area.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and directs a small team of analysts.
  • Conducts thorough analysis related to insurgency and violence, ensuring accurate data entry into relevant databases.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

A Bachelor's degree in military history, political science, international relations, security studies, or a related social science discipline is required (5 years of pertinent work experience in military analysis may substitute for a degree).

Five to ten years of relevant experience, including:

  • Demonstrated research capabilities regarding violent incidents and significant local events within the targeted region.
  • Experience in sourcing classified and unclassified information, especially through internet-based platforms.
  • Proficiency in maintaining incident tracking databases.
  • Familiarity with government agency information management systems, including GoogleEarth, IntelMapper, and Arc View.

Two to five years of additional relevant experience, including:

  • Expertise in researching violent incidents and local events, as well as insurgent and terrorist group dynamics.
  • Experience with DoD incident tracking databases.
  • Understanding of insurgent and terrorist organizational frameworks and operational strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven analytical skills in regional insurgencies.
  • Familiarity with Intelligence Community tools for identifying relevant locational data.
  • Ability to exploit metadata for comprehensive military analysis.
  • Reading proficiency in a foreign language pertinent to the area of focus.

Work Environment:
Government Agency On-Site – office setting.
