About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Wellness Team Member to join our team at the YMCA of Central Ohio. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional member experiences and contributing to the well-being of our community.

Job Summary

The Wellness Team Member will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our wellness areas, including the main equipment floor and studios. This individual will be responsible for maintaining a clean, welcoming, and adequately stocked environment that meets the needs of our members.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting members, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of our wellness areas, including equipment, floors, and surrounding spaces.
  • Ensure that all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available to support member activities and programs.
  • Communicate effectively with branch leaders and staff to report any maintenance or safety concerns related to equipment or facilities.
  • Engage with members to promote healthy living practices, provide recommendations for fitness activities, and facilitate connections between members.
  • Scan membership cards and grant access to facility as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries from callers, guests, and members regarding Y services, programs, and policies.
  • Participate in special events and daily activities as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Passionate commitment to the Y's mission and values, with a strong emphasis on promoting healthy living and community engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships and providing exceptional customer service.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 certifications must be obtained within 90 days of hire; must maintain current certification throughout employment.
Salary and Benefits

$35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience. The YMCA of Central Ohio offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan matching, and paid time off.
