Role Summary:
The Assistant Administrator is tasked with overseeing the residential, respite, and support programs, as well as additional services in the absence of the Administrator, as designated by senior management. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and the delivery of services that meet the highest clinical and ethical benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess prior experience and training in delivering care and treatment tailored to the needs of residents.
- Ensure that the facility, documentation, and programming adhere to all state regulations and licensing requirements.
- Confirm that qualified personnel are available, in line with staffing mandates established by regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external providers to facilitate smooth transitions in care.
- Foster positive relationships with referring agencies, community professionals, families, and clients.
- Exhibit a positive attitude towards the organization and job duties.
- Set high standards for staff performance and promote a culture of excellence.
- Communicate the organization’s mission, values, and policies effectively to staff.
- Adhere to organizational policies and ensure staff compliance.
- Develop and implement written policies and procedures for operational guidance.
- Maintain accurate facility and resident records as per regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular updates to the licensee and program director regarding operations.
- Ensure that the program operates in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Supervisory Duties: In the absence of the Program Administrator, the Assistant will oversee all Adult Residential Specialists.
Schedule: This position includes weekend coverage, with flexible options available.
Educational Requirements: Candidates must meet Oregon State requirements and possess MHACBO certification as a "Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA)" through one of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field.
- A combination of at least three years of relevant work, education, training, or experience.
Experience: Candidates should demonstrate competencies in identifying critical events:
- At least one year of experience in the mental health sector.
- Ability to lead and supervise staff effectively.
- Familiarity with the systems involved in the program.
- Knowledge of related programs and collaboration methods.
Licenses and Certifications: A valid Oregon driver’s license and an insurable driving record are required. Personal automobile insurance is necessary if clients are transported or agency business is conducted using a personal vehicle. Candidates must meet the criteria for MHACBO QMHA Certification, which must be maintained throughout employment. CPR/First Aid certification is also required.
