Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team at Dogwood Industries. As a Laborer, you will play a critical role in supporting the fabrication, painting, and assembly of steel building structures in our industrial manufacturing atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in our Quality Assurance Program to ensure the highest standards of quality in our products.
  • Use hand and power tools to clean and prepare steel for fabrication and assembly.
  • Handle materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Read and understand work orders and project task codes to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
  • Mix and prepare paint coatings according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Apply paints and coatings in accordance with procedures and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Accurately record quality data on cleaning and coating reports.
  • Clean and maintain the factory work areas and bathrooms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Ability to use a range of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to read and understand product labels and follow directions for paints, solvents, and other related products.
  • Ability to reach, bend, crawl, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs. with no restrictions.
  • Ability to be fitted for and use a respirator when required.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well with others and participate as a team member when appropriate.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of laborer or carpentry experience.
  • High school diploma, general education degree, or vocational degree.
  • Previous construction, manufacturing, or mechanical experience.
Work Environment

The physical demands of this job include full range of mobility in upper and lower body, ability to reach overhead, work in various positions, and use hands to handle objects. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment.

Compensation

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $34.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes health benefits, company-paid and supplemental life insurance, short-term disability, accident and hospital insurance, paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
