A unit-based practitioner with accountability for specialty and unit education, responsible for coordinating, elevating, and resolving problems and conflicts as they occur. Provides continuing education both formally and informally, and is accountable for Clinical Staff development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and implements unit-based education programs
  • Provides continuing education and staff development opportunities
  • Resolves problems and conflicts related to education and staff development
  • Collaborates with Clinical Nurse Specialist to address staff and patient needs
  • Facilitates and supports orientation activities
  • Provides expert knowledge of a specific patient population
  • Promotes the delivery of quality nursing care
  • Provides direct patient care as needed
Requirements:
  • Licensure or other certifications: Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia. Professional certification in either a clinical or education specialty.
  • Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of 3 years RN experience. Relevant clinical experience for specific unit.
  • Other: Professional organization membership.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred Licensure or other certifications: Certified in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC).
  • Preferred Education Requirements: A Master's Degree (Nursing or other if possessing a BSN).
  • Preferred Experience: Previous staff development and education experience.
  • Other: Membership in Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD).
