We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at West Virginia University Hospitals. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
Key Responsibilities- Process and analyze patient samples in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to established procedures and protocols.
- Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments, including calibration and troubleshooting.
- Perform quality control checks and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret laboratory results and provide accurate information.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient specimens and test results.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
- State licensure as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) within 90 days of hire.
- One year of clinical laboratory experience or training.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex information to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
