About the Role

Macdonald & Company is seeking a seasoned construction professional to lead our multifamily development projects in Texas. As a Construction Manager/Project Director, you will oversee multiple ground-up multifamily projects, collaborating with our design and development teams to ensure cost-effective and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Provide technical guidance, coordinate, and facilitate general construction activities by third-party contractors to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Project Monitoring: Regularly review contractors' work for budget, schedule, quality, and owner's programs, updating project financial models and providing regular reports on financial performance.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, coordinating and participating in Owner Architect Contractor (OAC) meetings.
  • Risk Management: Identify project risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and lead workflow between design consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Estimating and Scheduling: Develop conceptual estimates from design documents, providing input on constructability and cost during the design process, and track and manage construction schedules and production levels to ensure timely project completion.
  • Reporting and Communication: Produce monthly construction reports summarizing project progress, financials, and schedule performance, and lead and manage project teams, providing guidance and support, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in construction management, engineering, or business.
  • Certifications: CMAA, PMI, or similar construction project management certifications preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of construction or project management experience, with at least 5 years in multifamily development and construction.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, OSHA 30 or higher preferred, and ability to maintain high levels of integrity and professionalism under pressure and multiple deadlines.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Organizational Skills: Superior organizational and problem-solving skills.
