About the Role

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in a correctional health care setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality medical services to inmates, working closely with other healthcare professionals and security officers to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
  • Identify patient health problems and prescribe treatment under the direction of a physician.
  • Implement medical care utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by a Physician.
  • Provide education to inmates, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.
  • Document all healthcare contacts.
  • Adhere to safety and security policies and participate in disaster drills. Follow security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
  • Delegate to and supervise other team members as appropriate.
  • Adhere to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
  • Attend training and meetings as required.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited college/university NP / PA program.
  • Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of MA.
  • Experience in Correctional desired but not required.
  • Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements for Physician Assistants / Nurse Practitioners in the healthcare unit.
