Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Riverbend. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide critical care services to patients of all ages, including neonates and pediatrics. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients, including diagnostic testing, oxygen and medication delivery, bronchial hygiene, and life support.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of the patients.
  • Calibrate, clean, set up, maintain, and troubleshoot all patient-related equipment and instruments.
  • Participate in in-house educational in-services, interdepartmental, and intradepartmental as well as attending outside seminars and workshops, as requested by Manager.
  • Participate in various intermittent department tasks, including audits, quality assurance, statistical record keeping, patient charting, and other special projects as specified by Manager.
Requirements
  • Accredited Program Required: Respiratory Care Program. 2-year AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program or approved alternative education as outlined in the state regulatory requirements.
  • Must pass the NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist exam within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years Preferred: Experience in acute care as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Minimum of 1 year Preferred: Experience in a pulmonary function lab.
  • Preferred: Experience in ICU, Pediatrics, or Obstetrics.
  • Required: Respiratory Care Practitioner - Oregon.
  • Required within 6 months: Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Required: Basic Life Support.
  • ACLS – must be obtained within a standard grace period from hire or transfer, as specified in the PeaceHealth Policy Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements, or upon hire.
  • NRP certification – must be obtained within a standard grace period from hire or transfer, as specified in the PeaceHealth Policy Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements, or upon hire.
  • PALS - must be obtained within a standard grace period from hire or transfer, as specified in the PeaceHealth Policy Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements, or upon hire.
